About us
Recruiters helping recruiters get more from the CV database
We've spent two decades filling UK vacancies — agency side and in-house. This site is the guide we wish someone had handed us on day one.
Where this came from
Back in the early 2000s, hiring meant posting an advert and hoping. If the right person didn't happen to be looking that week, you waited. CV databases changed that: instead of waiting for candidates to find your role, you go and find them.
Over the years we've watched brilliant hiring managers struggle with database searching, not because it's hard, but because nobody ever showed them how. They type a job title into the keyword box, get 4,000 irrelevant results, and decide the tool doesn't work. It does — you just need a handful of techniques.
What we publish
- Step-by-step guides to searching and shortlisting from a CV library.
- Boolean search strings you can copy, adapt and reuse.
- Honest cost breakdowns in pounds, so you can build an internal business case.
- Short articles on outreach, job adverts and candidate response rates.
Our experience
Between us we've placed candidates across engineering, logistics, care, construction, IT and professional services, in both permanent and temporary markets. We've run database searches for £22,000 warehouse roles and £120,000 leadership hires, and the underlying method barely changes.
How we make money
CV-Libraries.co.uk is free to use. When you click through to CV-Library and sign up, we may receive a commission. That's it — no paid placements, no sponsored reviews, no hidden trackers. We are not owned by, or affiliated with, CV-Library Ltd.
If a CV database isn't the right answer for your role, we'll say so. Our long-term value depends on you trusting what you read here.
